Assets (and other stuff) • Oh God I Hate Textures

Warning: long-ass post.

OK, so, I'm one of those heathens that uses WadSmoosh. I'm also an even greater heathen since I tweak and twiddle to add more levels to autoload and be playable with no additional IWAD or PWAD switches.

A while back, I managed to cobble together and strip out a version of FreeDoom that could be made to load alongside the retail game, and not be missing or overwriting any assets in the process. This was a BALLACHE to do. Slightly less of a ballache was making these autoloading wads work with my insane WadSmoosh franken-IPK3.
...Well, I found out FreeDoom's updated as of January 2024. Big update, strips out all the Boom stuff to make it kinda-sorta vanilla compatible. Fair 'nough.

OK, cool, new maps. That's the easy part to port over. Just would need to rename 'em, and dick around in MAPINFO to get the names all straightened out. Got a base for that already.
New music? OK, sure, that can be done easy. Rename the lumps as necessary, port, replace extant stuff.
Sprites? Sounds? Strip those out, don't need 'em. Got vanilla assets for those already.

...now we come to the patches and flats. Herein lies the problem.
I'm bloody terrible when it comes to the texture-juggling. It was already a nightmare getting things like the Lost Episode not to overwrite anything, but damnit, I pulled it off. Somehow.

Is there...a relatively painless way to merge the texture sets while stripping out anything that already exists that doesn't involve having to use GZDB to find conflicts? Preferably via SLADE?
And if there isn't...would someone please be kind enough to aid in this endeavor?

The *only* things I need aid with are the textures-- patches and flats alike. More specifically, to strip out anything and everything from both FreeDoom phases that is already extant in UltDoom, Doom 2, TNT and Plutonia (and, God forbid, SIGIL I and II, if FD replaces any of those assets as well now). If anything licensing-related is a concern, this is by no means intended as a replacement or displacement of the FreeDoom project, this is just wanting to play the FD levels mixed with the more familiar Doom experience (and be more accomodating to retail-focused mod play).

I really don't want to go through the proverbial swamps again making these again...I've recently taken to using Graf's WadExt to aid in this process (and not require the use of a wad nestled in the PK3's base directory), if that helps.
