So a couple of things, in my opinion, that make a weapon look "doom classic". They are usually brighter, and pretty high contrast. They have that digitized look since they were mostly digitized. and they have that "toy" look since they were mostly digitized from toy guns. So that's kind of what I was going for with my last one. Secondly, there aren't any classic doom weapons that have that bio-organic / cybernetic look, though obviously there are doom enemies that have that. However, I tried to go for a bit more mechanic look in my appearance and used the spidermastermind as an inspiration. So I ditched the dark bones and went with metal parts there and then changed the "skin" to brain matter. The unmaker for doom 64 obviously had that dark smooth 3d rendered look which doesn't blend very well with the current doom weapons. But, if you wanted something more like what you've got there I got another attempt at that.
Though in my opinion my first attempt looked more "classic doom".
